Pulau Ubin, Singapore


Pulau Ubin is the last Kampong (Village) of Singapore preserving its essence for Singaporeans. It is a nice place for one day outing and have a close look at nature away from concrete jungle.



One need to take bus ride to Changi Village. There are a number of buses connecting to Changi Village from different part of Singapore. Changi Village is also a nice spot for varieties of eateries. You can take boat from here to Pulau Ubin. Boat service is 24 hours and charge is 2$ which will be collected in boat itself. Admission to Island is free and there is no restriction on roaming late in night.



With sparsely populated area, you will find yourself alone in the lush green nature once you start moving deep inside this island. The silence, big trees on both sides and small path way covered with dry leaves will give you a thrilling experience which will be more interesting with unique sound of birds and insects. You should be prepared to protect yourself from mosquitoes.

Chek Jawa wetland can be considered as a tourist spot there. covered with Mangrove trees and wooden floating platform is made to preserve wetland habitats. The tides are highest and lowest at every 6 hour interval. You would like to visit this place when tide is low.

Bicycles are available in rent ranging from 8$ to 20$ for full day. One busy restaurant is also available facing sea side .

Changi village is also connected to Pengarang in Malaysia. You may need to carry your passport to visit there.
